some incredible artwork by jim denevan. his "sand" series has always been my favorite- i love the visual of the changing waves washing this all away.
jim is also the founder of "Outstanding in the Field", a traveling local culinary movement.

i was introduced to the work of bay area landscape architect Andrea Cochran by Casey (of K.I.D. Collective) a while ago- needless to say, I am obsessed with the spaces she creates.

a few weekends ago, matt and i went out to longwood gardens for the day to wander the grounds- here are some of the beautiful textures and shades of green we found. i'll post photos of the flowers soon.

maps from eric fischer's gorgeous geotagging study, "tourists and locals". blue dots represent photos in each city taken by long-term (local) residents; red dots are short-term (tourists); yellow are uncategorized. from top, the cities shown here are london, new york, paris, and san francisco.

german designer elisa strozyk is the genius behind these beautiful, flexible wood "fabrics". i think these are so inventive and visually inspiring.

i really like these modern chairs covered in old man plaids. they're like grandpa cardigans with dresses for the living room- a great counterpart to overt girliness. maybe a buffalo plaid for my guest room chair?
