one of my favorite little stores to explore is j.woeste in los olivos, ca, where you can find beautiful garden furniture and charming little accents.  i wandered through a few weeks ago with my camera, and even found a chicken coop!  no website, so you'll have to visit in person.

to me, this space is just about perfect.  it has such a natural, authentic quality to it.  love the sunshine reflecting off the hard materials, and the touches of shine in the chandeliers and mirrors.

this is my favorite picture.  i first tore it out of an issue of W magazine well over a year ago and it still is on the bulletin board next to my desk.

i could live in a room like this.

there is something so pretty about furniture with a print; it feels right for this spring.  usually, i tend toward a more modern/rustic sensibility (or white), but i'm pulled in by the traditional charm of these rooms- the texture of the floors, depth of the walls, faded romantic colors... i'd like to put on a beautiful dress and twirl across these open floors.

i'm hoping to have the rest of this room decorated up to standard in the next few months, but for now, here's the northern half, which we love!   i hand-dyed the curtains and painted the wrought-iron artwork over the bed.  the walls are a very soft warm gray, which i am finding is a great backdrop for any color i want to pop in.  all the linens are from pottery barn and the blue embroidered throw i picked up on a trip to mexico years ago.  there is a little cat named oski that lives here, and i think he's pretty cute.

today, i'm infatuated with these photos by swedish graphic design student hilda grahnat.  she artfully composes these "arrangements" using vintage items she has found while thrifting.  so much going on, yet such a peaceful effect- i just can't stop looking and finding new beauty in these!

i really like these modern chairs covered in old man plaids.  they're like grandpa cardigans with dresses for the living room- a great counterpart to overt girliness.  maybe a buffalo plaid for my guest room chair?

this beautiful antique pallet was originally used in france to hand-turn champagne during the fermentation process.  now, it serves a new purpose as a statement piece and storage solution for the ultimate wine-lover.

moving onto three years in our place, and i am still searching for the perfect full length mirror.  this one from west elm is my dream!

blush tones and neutrals are transitioning from the fashion runway back into the home.  currently, my bedroom is tones of gray popped with sunny yellow, but switching out the accent color for this rose might make the space really serene for winter.
