i've been intending to share cal lane's beautiful art since i started this blog last fall...i first came across her work through the Lace in Translation exhibition at Philadelphia University.
these images, titled "dirtworks" are from a 2004 installation at Purchase University.

beautiful, right? wait until you see how artist Klaartje Martens creates these- she sets up strict parameters and then draws within them using a permanent marker, always in the same blue. the video below of the artist in action is completely mesmerizing.
